It ensures consistent extrusion, dimensional accuracy, and layer bonding. Thermal barriers are made of heat-resistant materials like PTFE, titanium, or ceramic for effective thermal isolation. Proper installation and cooling prevent clogging, under-extrusion, or stringing. Advanced hotends use all-metal thermal barriers for high-temperature filaments like Nylon, Polycarbonate, and PEEK. Thermal barriers enhance extrusion stability, reliability, and print quality. |
